Most DIY projects would leave the fencing and patio. Concentrating on adding store bought items like furniture or water features.
Our first stage is pen and paper designs. These plans are to scale and allow for quick changes. It's easy to explore multiple options.
Once the design is pretty final a CAD drawing is made. This allows a client to explore their garden in real time and take still shots.
Key areas were a real turf space, outdoor dining/entertaining area, low maintenance planters.
We wanted to maximise the available space so proposed the creation of multiple 'rooms' with vertical planting to further extend the space.
Fist step of the installation is to replace the patio.
Fencing was to be horizontal cedar style. The fence was extended upward to give additional privacy.

Instead of standard DIY decking, the outdoor timber flooring was matched to the fencing.
The outdoor entertaining design originally had a roof. The roof was too dominant in this area and the installation changed with an easy to install/remove fabric shade.
The custom made linear water trough was built to integrate into the fence, the copper/industrial tiles provide interesting contrast.
A mixture of real grasses and artificial planting was used.
The inspiration for the outdoor tile and timber combination came from Riva motor yachts.
Beneath the lawn was a wifi connected 'pop up' sprinkler system.
The raised planters were constructed to give a very slim, clean contemporary look.
Lighting, in all of our outdoor designs, is an important feature.
